Your Questions, Answered

Most people have a handful of questions before picking up the phone, like how we actually work, what things realistically cost, how soon we respond, and whether we’re even the right fit for their specific situation. This page answers the ones we hear most often, pulled straight from real conversations with clients and prospective clients just now starting to look into working with us.

Getting Started

What to expect from a first conversation, and what it’s like to become a client.

Who does Bucks Capital Advisers work with?

We primarily work with business owners and individuals across Bucks County and beyond who want a straightforward, personal approach to asset management, planning, and building wealth. As a family-run practice, we take a hands-on approach with every client we work with.

What happens during my first conversation with you?

Every relationship starts the same way, a free, no-obligation conversation about your goals and situation. We'll listen first, then walk you through whether and how we can help. There's no pressure and no sales pitch, just a conversation.

Is there a minimum account size or set fee to work with you?

Every situation is different, so we don't publish flat fees or minimums online. Give us a call at (215) 497-9849 and we'll walk you through what makes sense for your specific goals.

Do you only work with clients in Pennsylvania?

No. While our office is based in Newtown, Bucks County, we serve clients nationally and internationally. We’re happy to work over the phone and video call, so location is rarely a barrier.

What if I already work with another advisor or accountant?

That's fine, we regularly talk with people who already have an advisor, accountant, or attorney and simply want a second opinion or a more hands-on relationship. We'll have an honest conversation about whether we're the right fit for what you need.

Our Services

What we actually do, in plain terms: from portfolios to retirement plans to college savings.

What services do you offer?

We offer asset management, cash management, financial planning, estate planning, small business retirement plan administration, and education planning. Whether you need one service or a full financial strategy, we build a plan around your goals.

What exactly is "cash management"?

It means putting idle cash, money sitting in a low-interest checking or savings account. to work in short-term U.S. Treasury securities and/or Money Markets instead. It's a straightforward way to earn more on funds you're not ready to invest elsewhere, whether that's business reserves, a windfall, or an emergency fund.

Can you set up and administer a retirement plan for my small business?

Yes. We help business owners design and administer retirement plans, including 401(k)s, SEP IRAs, and SIMPLE IRAs, matched to their company's size and budget, then handle the ongoing compliance and documentation that comes with running one.

Will you replace my estate attorney?

No. Estate planning works best as a team effort. We review how your accounts are titled and your beneficiary designations, then coordinate directly with you and your estate attorney on the legal documents themselves, like your will, trust, and powers of attorney.

Do you help families save for college?

Yes. Education planning is one of our core services, and we help families understand what college costs are likely to look like and build a savings strategy using 529 plans and other tax-advantaged accounts, balanced against your own retirement savings.

Working With Us

What it’s like to work with a small, family-run practice day to day.

What does it mean that you're a "family-run practice"?

Bucks Capital Advisers is a father-and-son advisory practice based in Newtown, Bucks County. That means when you call, you're getting one of us, not a call center or a rotating cast of representatives, and a hands-on approach to every account we manage.

How soon will I hear back after reaching out?

A real person answers our phone, not a call center. If you reach out through the contact form, expect a response within one business day.

Do I need to prepare anything before our first meeting?

No, just come as you are. If you have recent account statements, copies of tax returns and estate planning documents, or a sense of what you're hoping to accomplish, that can help move the conversation along, but it's not required for a first conversation.

Do you personally manage my account, or is it handled by someone else?

We do, personally. The same people you speak with when you call are the same team members managing your account.

How often will I hear from you once I'm a client?

We prefer to maintain a continuous, open line of communication with our clients. Our goal is to establish a relationship where we’re one of the first calls our clients make when looking to make financial and life decisions.
